WHDF MOSCA Data

Note: for all these data, no attempt has been made to flat field the spectra, and wavelength calibration is based on the night sky emission lines. These give an rms of about 2-3Å, and stretch from 4300-8800Å. The images of the emission lines were created by subtracting each CCD frame from copies of itself shifted by +/-8 pixels in the spatial direction, then adding the result. This removes the underlying sky very effectively. The two narrow sets of sky lines on top and bottom are where the edges of the shifted spectra fall outside the original slit length. Cosmic rays have not been removed from these images, but the original spectra were cleaned (by hand) before passing to IRAF. The direct 'true' colour images are formed from B,R,I+H exposures.

All spectra taken with the green-250 grism. Scale about 6Å/pixel, and a FWHM on the arcs/sky lines of ~25Å
