Typographic Conventions

The following typographic conventions are used in this cookbook.

Anything that is to be typed into a computer program via the keyboard, or output from one via the screen, is indicated by a `typewriter' font like this.

Lines that are to be typed into the computer are shown beginning with a % sign, for example:

% gaia

The % indicates the Unix `shell prompt' and should not be typed in. However:

items appearing in GAIA's graphical windows are shown in a sans serif font like this.
