AstroTools

The AstroTools module is a front end to some of the python scripts we use to select targets, convert between targets and analyse data in Durham. This can be run by: python /mnt/64bin/AstroTools/tools_gui.py

• StarAlt provides the Altitude during the night for a target (or set of targets). Searches can be made on Target Name (minor bodies), stars and galaxies (Simbad) or by defining coordinates.

• Converter provides a useful widget to convert between date types (UTC, JD, MJD) as well as coordinate systems.

• Flatfield: flatfield a single image

• MakeMosaic: mosaic (coadd) a set of images, using cross correlation to applying offsets between images.

• MakeFlats: construct flatfields from the archive.
