Prince Bishop River Cruise & BBQ
On the Monday evening of the workshop we have organised a boat
cruise
on the Prince Bishop River Cruiser, which offers beautiful views of
historic Durham City, Cathedral, Castle and Bridges. A BBQ dinner will
be served on the boat (including vegetarian options) and a bar is also
available onboard.
For more information please visit: http://www.princebishoprc.co.uk/
The cruise starts at 7:30pm (boarding at 7:00pm), till 11:00pm.
The cost of the ticket is 15 GBP, including dinner.
Places are limited to 100 people, so do not wait to sign up! You can sign up at the point of registration.
Trip to Hadrian's Wall
The Wednesday afternoon of the workshop will be left free of talks
and we will arrange a visit to Hadrian's Wall - part of the
fortifications marking the northern border of the Roman Empire, built
around 122AD. We will travel by coach to a section of the wall near the
village "Once Brewed". Our visit will last 2.5 hours, offering the
opportunity to hike along this section of the wall (at your own pace)
and enjoy the spectacular views over Crag Lough and the local
countryside. We will return by coach in time for the workshop dinner.
Alternatively, you are free to remain in Durham to explore the city and
visit the local sights of interest (e.g such as the World Heritge site
that includes the castle and cathedral)
For more information see: http://www.thisisdurham.com/
Registration for the trip will be available at the workshop registration.
