Prime focus Astrophotography with the 8.5'' Newtonian

Back to main astrophotography page

All taken with 8.5'' F6 Newtonian and Canon 1000D DSLR at prime focus with a LP filter. ISO1600 unless stated. Processed with GIMP and/or DSS.
Each object is usually shown either 4x4 binned ( ~4''/pixel) or 2x2 binned (~2''/pixel), both cropped to 600x400. For large objects the full frame (3888x2592) may be scaled to 600x400 (~6''/pixel), whilst very small objects are shown unbinned (~1''/pixel - actually 0.94'').
