What Drives the Growth of Black Holes?

COVID-19 Policy for in-person attendees

Although restrictions are easing up all over the world, we are still aware that COVID-19 is still very much around. At the current time there are no Covid restrictions in place in Iceland (up-to-date information here), but we want to facilitate a conference where everyone can come together and feel safe as much as possible. We therefore ask that attendees adhere to our COVID-19 policy.

We request that all conference attendees wear face masks when indoors. The main lecture hall is voluminous but masks will help minimize the risk of transmission. The opening reception, coffee breaks, and conference dinner will take place indoors, but in large, open spaces where there is room for people to spread out. Lunches are not provided, allowing attendees to leave the conference venue and refresh their lungs.

There will be masks and sanitizers in place in Harpa and we recommend all conference participants to use them. Iceland supplies free covid tests in cases where there are symptoms in place. You can get tested in Harpan, by going here.

We will have stickers available for name badges so people can indicate their comfort level with social distancing with the following colours:

Green: handshakes / hugs allowed
Yellow: please ask before initiating physical contact
Red: absolutely no physical contact

We ask all conference participants to respect others’ preferences for social distancing.
